Decision Sacred Art Gallery founded and run by Yorùbá textile artist and painter Oluwatobi Adedayo Olumide based in Ile Ife, Osun State in Nigeria. Born and raised in Osogbo, at a young age he found himself dreaming about art and scribbling figures.
He later studied Fine and Applied Arts at Osun State College of Education graduating in 2012 continuing on to complete his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife. During this time he also worked under his mentor and uncle Segun Adenle where he learnt about manufacturing and marketing textiles.
At 23 years old Oluwatobi started to operate his own business Decision Sacred Art Gallery selling his works from his studio and online. Oluwatobi's art explores the stories of African and Black identity (specifically through Yorùbá culture and tradition) and how the power of who we are within our traditions holds the keys to our sustenance. Various motifs are displayed within these artworks highlighting the value of symbology within African culture and the thread that interlinks and weaves our principles together.
