'Asaase Ye Duru' translating in Asante Twi (Ghana) to the ‘Earth carries weight’.
An Akan Adinkra symbol highlighting the wealth, providence, nourishment and exchange that we have with Asaase Yaa (Mother Earth) through our bodies, food and all that is physical and material that we experience. Bringing reflection to what and how much we receive and give back to Earth and Nature in gratitude and understanding within the natural laws of existence, death and life. As our vessels are given to us when we enter this realm, so they will return to the soil when we depart.
